Nick Roberto is a Composer and Conductor specializing in Vocal Music.

Nick is a NYC based composer, conductor, and performer. He started out as a choral singer in Santa Cruz, California in 2010. In 2011, he joined the Barbershop Harmony Society where he became the youngest chapter president in the Society at the age of 18. He went on to become the Musical Director for the Santa Cruz Chapter Chorus, which placed 1st in their division at the Far Western District Contest in 2019.

Nick spent 2 years studying in Creston, IA at the School for Music Vocations: a Jazz conservatory program run by Dr. Jeremy Fox, and founded by Jazz pianist Phil Mattson. There, he toured with the Vocal Jazz Ensemble Harmonic Convergence, directed by Lucas Mattson and Audio Radiance, directed by Grammy nominated singer Jason Smith. Nick’s Vocal Jazz career continued back in the Bay Area, where he directed and arranged for the Cabrillo College Jazz singers and performed with the West Coast Voices. He went on to be the Director of the San Jose State University Jazz Singers as he continued to compose and arrange for multiple ensembles.

During his time at San Jose State, he sung with the Choraliers, Directed by Dr. Jeffrey Benson. This ensemble goes on tour internationally and has performed alongside Josh Groban and the Game of Thrones Orchestra. Throughout his education, Nick has written music for Bay Area ensembles including Resounding Acchord, the Choraliers, and West Coast Voices.

Nick is currently the Choral Music teacher and Director of Liturgical Music at the School of the Holy Child in Rye, NY, and is the assistant director of the NYC Barbershop chorus, Voices of Gotham. He also frequently performs with his Barbershop Quartet B-side. Nick’s arrangements are self published through Sheet Music Plus and Sheet Music Direct, and some of his compositions are published through Gentry Publications.

Nick holds an M.M in Choral Conducting and a B.M. in Music Composition from San Jose State University, as well as an A.A.A. in Professional Music from The School For Music Vocations.
